New Times Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., established in 1971, is a large‑scale private enterprise integrating ship design and manufacturing. It holds the distinction of being the first local shipyard in China to build a 10,000‑ton vessel in 1996 and the first private shipyard to build a large LNG dual‑fuel vessel in 2019. It has established its own independent Ship Design and Research Center in Shanghai, a Jiangsu Provincial Enterprise Technology Center, a Jiangsu Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center, and a Jiangsu Provincial Industrial Technology Engineering Center.
